Food ordering app Zomato has launched its subscription service, Zomato Gold , in India. Through Zomato Gold subscription, users can access complimentary food and drinks at the best-rated restaurant partners of Zomato when they place an order.
This premium service, which has already been introduced in the UAE and Portugal earlier this year, comes to India with a base subscription fee of ₹299 for four months and ₹999 for a year.
“We are super excited to bring Zomato Gold to India, and are sure our users, as well as restaurant partners, are both going to find this hugely beneficial”, Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal said.
As of now, Zomato Gold will only be available in restaurants across Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. The service will be extended to other cities soon to attract more subscribers. The challenge will be to turn its users into paid subscribers, said experts.
However, the rave response to Zomato Treats, which has already attracted 60,000 subscribers, made the company launch Zomato Gold in India. Moreover, the company hopes such customer-centric schemes will improve its business in coming years.
Founded in 2008, Zomato is India’s largest online food delivery app and it operates in 23 countries across the globe with a very large database of restaurants.
