Messaging app WhatsApp is planning to generate revenue from its Business App, which was launched in January this year. WhatsApp is launching its first revenue-generating product in India for companies to interact directly with customers using the instant messaging platform.
According to a report by TechCrunch , the WhatsApp Business API will let businesses respond to messages from users for free for up to 24 hours but will charge them a fixed rate by country per message sent after that.
WhatsApp is planning to collaborate with companies such as MakeMyTrip, Zendesk and 1mg to launch its WhatsApp for Business APIs. This means users can communicate with service providers on WhatsApp messaging app.
Moreover, the Facebook-led company is also planning to launch its full-fledged payments app in India soon.
