Chinese smartphone company Vivo opens its exclusive e-store to fetch more sales in India. Previously, the Vivo smartphones were mainly sold through offline stores.
Through its new online store, Vivo will sell accessories and handsets. The customers will be able to buy the latest Vivo handsets through the platform.
The move is part of the company’s strategic decision to grow its sales online as well.
Vivo is now the latest smartphone company to have an exclusive e-store after OnePlus, Samsung, Motorola and Xiaomi.
“Vivo’s strategy of launching an estore is an affirmation of the Indian market maturing in terms of internet penetration, payment and fulfilment infrastructure, thus representing a huge growth potential,” said Kenny Zeng, chief marketing officer, Vivo.
Moreover, Vivo will soon launch an app to carry out online sale. According to Zeng, the app will have augmented reality features and live chat options to enhance customer experience.
Vivo, launched in 2014, had been mainly collaborating with offline stores to increase its market share in India. They offered higher commission to the offline sellers. Now with launch of online stores, Vivo has reduced commission for offline stores.
