Fitness is not all about those beefed up muscles. It is a way of life that needs dedication and perseverance. Vasu Mittal, hailing from New Delhi, wanted to redefine the fitness industry in India when he started off five years ago in 2014. He had the vision to change the lives of people.
Today, Vasu has evolved to become a reliable name in the fitness industry. He is one of the leading transformation specialists with an extensive clientele across the globe. Moreover, he dipped his feet into entrepreneurship with VM Nutrition, a company that sells supplements.
What it took for him to reach the zenith of success? Vasu unravels his extraordinary story.
I believe inspiration is all around us and it comes in many different forms, you just have to keep your eyes and heart open. I usually get inspiration from my own potential, sometimes from a conversation with dad, being outside and moving my body gets my creative juices flowing as well.
So, there isn’t one source or one person that inspires me. To me, inspiration is a creative concept and often happens instantaneously.
Tip to the beginners in my industry
This generation wants instant manifestation of everything. However, success doesn’t come cheap. I have climbed a lot, the road was rocky, the thorns hurt me but I never gave up… Fail and get up. Fail and get up.
If you really want to be a fitness model or an entrepreneur then you gotta go all in. You have to work 24×7 with a vision. A lot of people ask me, they have a great physique yet they can’t grab attention of the masses.
See, you not only have to work on your physique but on your personality and on your brain as well. You gotta have that charisma and so many people are missing that. And working towards all of this, you have to be real. I have been preaching this for years — BE YOURSELF.
Biggest influence on my life
Arnold Schwarzenegger & Rich Piana have made the biggest influence on my life. I have learnt one thing from both of them and that’s — “we all have the capability to be great. Just do your work, take care of your mind/body, and make the best of this time.”
As long as it’s about reading, my favorite book is “Rich dad, Poor dad” written by Robert Kiyosaki. It is a great perspective changer. I recommend this book to everyone who’s starting out.
What am I grateful for?
I’m grateful for everything that I have today. I can’t forget how I pushed myself when it was dark, windy, and raining. I started from bottom so I know the value of each and everything that I possess today.
Never in my entire life I have taken anything for granted. I’m 23… I have health, a great support system, intellectual abilities, a huge social family. What more can I ask for? Forever grateful and thankful for this life I live.
How do I unwind?
My one true happy place is at the gym. It is seriously so addicting and stress relieving. The place where I can block off all the day to day stresses, a place where I can be for hours and connect within.
No worries in the world. Just me, my music & weights. Literally brings up my enthusiasm for life.
