Welcome to Entrepreneurs of India #startupstories episode 77
Two years ago, Aman Porwal, a first year student at college, came across the hardships students faced to finish their projects and assignments on time. The hectic academic schedule didn’t allow them to submit the works before deadline.
The failure in meeting the project deadlines kept their grades low, which ultimately put the students’ future at stake. He felt embarrassed at their plight.
An idea popped up in his head! “What if I could help them complete the project on time?” he thought. Aman dug out an opportunity there.
He launched Assignment Solutions and developed a dedicated team to help students with their projects, providing a hassle-free experience for them.
Aman stops by to talk about his entrepreneurial journey and discusses the prospects of his business, and the challenges awaiting him.
1) How did you get the idea for this business?
In first year of my college I saw students facing difficulties while completing their projects and assignments and it results into late submissions and due to which students losses there marks and get bad grades .
So there I saw an opportunity that what if I can arrange solutions for students and also provide them assignments if in case they missed them due to any reason. So I gathered a team of B.com and 12th class students who were in search of small odd jobs and I asked them to complete projects of students and in return ill pay them.
I created pages on various social sites named it Assignment Solutions. I started posting about it on social media also designed posters and templates and displayed them on various notice boards of my college, as its result, I started getting calls from students who were stuck in between there projects and needed something to figure out there problems .
There I provided them solutions and charged them. As time rolled I got projects from various colleges of different cities. Then I upgraded my team and also started providing solutions for major and minor projects of students then further upgraded and started solving real life Assignments (Projects) for clients and founded assignmentsolutions.in .

They also guided me about the risk factors which I may face during my journey.
4) What was your biggest mistake in business and what did you learn from it?
When I started Assignment Solutions in August 2016, I was a first year student and I was not having experience of current market scenario so I worked for them at very low rates and for same things others were charging very high. So this was one of my major mistake I did at starting on my Entrepreneurial journey. I learnt that firstly we should get complete knowledge before starting something. One more mistake I did was choosing wrong people to work for me due to which I had suffered.
5) What is your biggest obstacle in the next 12 months and how will you overcome it?
The biggest obstacle we gonna face is the hesitation or we can say the fear inside the students about who will support their idea? Who gonna help them out in execution of their idea will be the major problem we will be facing. The awareness about the work we do for startups could be a challenge for us, a bunch of youth must not be aware about our work and they may give up on their idea due to unavailability of resources.
Our aim is to give a kick start to all those amazing ideas who come in contact with us. Their success would be our success.
We will organize online contests where students can send their innovative ideas and get in contact with us. We will promote in various college events and seminars.
In addition, we will be running digital survey on various social Media to get in touch with students having innovative ideas.

The saying – necessity is the mother of all invention- is indeed true. Aman realized the need of the hour at the right time. Entrepreneurs should always be paying attention to their surroundings. That’s how you can spot a problem and think of a possible solution. Innovative ideas are emerged that way.
In entrepreneurship, what matters is how you put your thoughts into action. Aman ideated a business that sounded simple – to help students do their academic work. But it wasn’t a cakewalk.
Without much investment, he relied on social media and word of mouth to promote his startup. He opines that the best way to build business in the beginning is networking. So, reach out to your potential clients and let them know what you’re doing, and how you can help them.
