Today we interview Rahul Gonsalves from Enzo-solutions, founder of Enzo-solutions.com. Enzo Daily Car Wash has been designed to provide a quick, waterless solution to professional car care. The product used is a high lubricating mixture that removes the dirt from the surface of the car and leaves it with a shiny finish. Not only that but it saves thousands of litres of wasted water. Way to go Enzo.

So Rahul, welcome to #eoindia and lets jump straight in…

1) How did you get your idea for this business?

When i used to get down from my appartment every morning, we had a dedicated person in the appartment who used to go around and clean the cars, he used two buckets of water per car, left the pavment wet and mossy with a mosquito breeding ground.
Then at 1 PM, i get back home for lunch the tap is out. Our uilding management runs out of water and so we have our taps out from 12-3PM to be self sufficient in their water needs. I had to get rid of this, i just loved my afternoon showers!

2) What was stopping you from becoming an entrepreneur?

Nothing actually, i started my first company at 17, i was still completing by masters in entrepreneurship so managing time was an issue but being a student at The entrepreneurship development Institute of India i did get the daily boost to keep going! Some inspirational mentors there!

3) What was the reaction from your family when you first decided to start your business?

Go For It! was the reaction for this business. But my first business did face opposition from the family owing to the fact that i was still in Std. 11.

4) What was your biggest failure in business and what did you learn from it?

My biggest failure was the fact that i wanted to start a smartphone manufacturing and branding company. The investors backed out! we were almost there.
In retrospect, I’m very proud about it. That I was foolish enough to believe that I can take Google. I still try to stay foolish when I’m double-minded about going for things I believe in.

5) When did you realise that your business was going to be successful?

I demoed my product to 7 student entrepreneurs from different parts of the world.I truly believe in serving and solving problems for people in general and not just a niche. the fact that all 7 of these wanted a slice of the business, this gave me the confidence.

6) What habits contribute to your success?

I try to sleep just 3 hours, max 4.

7) If you had to start your business again what would you do differently?

I would not wait or depend on the EDI startup fund, i did wait and it didnt come and then i had to borrow money from a shroff, bad choice!

8) What is your favourite inspirational quote?

”Remember that guy that gave up?
Neither does anyone else“

9) Where do you find inspiration?

I believe in learning constantly, at any point of time i have a book, a professional course and a biography. Podcasts and videos also play an active and important role in inspiration.

10) What is your favourite book?

Who moved my cheese, stevejobs -walter issacson and super excited about the ashlee vance written book, elon musk hope the rumours are true.

11) What advice would you give to someone starting out?

Just start, people talk!

Thats it. A massive thank you to Rahul for taking the time to answer those questions.
