The desire to initiate something collaboratively upon the solid foundation of our friendship had been with us ever since the school days. But the execution remained unknown.
However, we had to organize our batch reunion right after a year of school period. The satisfying outcome of our effort and the ecstasy we saw with our friends that day sowed the seeds to our love for decors and coordination and thus in event management arena despite the plethora of startups in same field.
Believing in own ways, sharing our concepts and ideas on events and decors to the people within our circles became a routine and we were entrusted with a small event by one of our acquaintance. We decided to give it a go without much brainstorming due to the firm belief in our no matter-what-withstanding bond which swiftly resulted in and as ‘Qsquare Events’.
2) Why is ‘now’ a good time for this idea to exist?
‘Big Fat Wedding’ has always been and continues to be a prominent dream of almost every Indian. We happened to attend many functions and avid eyeing to every nano aspects convinced us that our people would go to any extent to make their Big-Day momentous regardless the monetary status and still ends up having the very cliché and repetitive contents.
Even though the “Degree pursuing Five at their teenage end” title put us in a haphazard situation, we couldn’t give up on our promptitude in discovering and adapting new changes to every events. Since weddings never go out of fashion, we want our people to disinter new ways and not get used to the usual content any bit.
3) What was the reaction from your family when you first decided to become an entrepreneur?
Initially, families of us five were really concerned about our degrees and warned us about juggling between college and work. But seeing our enthusiasm and hard work to synchronize the foresaid parts, they gave benevolent support in creating our aspiration a reality.
Never did they hesitate to hold our back at the times we struggled. It gives us immense joy now when they proudly say Qsquare is their kid’s venture.
4) What was your biggest mistake in business and what did you learn from it?
We kind of thought only the expensive products could give us the perfect quality. Since we could never compromise on giving our clients the fine quality experience, a lot of money got washed off in production and purchasing sectors. It took us couple of events to expertise in catching up with higher quality with cheaper cost.
Anyways we were acknowledged by the fact that mistakes are inevitable in order to grow and that has helped us in branding Qsquare.
5) What is your biggest obstacle in the next 12 months and how will you overcome it?
It will be client acquisition and our original contents and ideas getting plagiarized. There is the confidence for us that we will logistically hit it off with our passion alongside better marketing perspective.
6) What habits contribute to your success?
Constant learning tops our list and to mention others it goes; keeping attention to details, collective diligence in rising up to our clients priorities and staying calm and avoiding a chaos at last minute changes.
7) If you had the opportunity to start this business again, what would you do differently?
We started off just as planners and didn’t bat an eye to other crucial areas of an event. So if we could ever start our business again, we would definitely include professional services to every nook and corner of an event.
8) What is your favourite inspirational quote?
And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it – Alchemist
Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning- Bill Gates
9) Where do you find inspiration?
Its an irony that we find our core inspiration within our events itself. Indian functions tend to be more emotional whether its a family function or a college function. The tears of joy and jubilant vibe we deliver towards the end of every events keep us inspired big-time and push us to be much efficient the next time.
10) Which is your favourite book?
