1) How did you get your idea for this business?
I was doing job in Hyderabad and one day I was talking to my mom about how boring work life was. So, she gave me idea over the call. “Why don’t you start taking online counselling session and similarly could travel the world as you like travelling”, she asked. So, I converted my passion into a profession because it made me happy.
2) Why is “now” a good time for this idea to exist?
As, we are living in this digital era, and everything is going digital with less time, effective reach to worldwide audience and better communication with great satisfaction. “World is Digital so we need to go digital “
3) What was the reaction from your family when you first decided to become an entrepreneur?
My family, especially my mother and sister were very supportive from the beginning as this is my fifth Start up. However, I never shared anything about my struggle with anybody in my family. So, they don’t know much I struggled.
4) What was your biggest mistake in business and what did you learn from it?
I have always learnt from my mistakes. But the biggest learning which I have learnt till date (which my Father advised me once) is that never borrow money from anyone, start with your savings.
5) What is your biggest obstacle in the next 12 months and how will you overcome it?
In the initial six months I didn’t know how to market my product. So I interacted with people of different states and I got a lot of knowledge about marketing. I understood how my services can be marketed digitally in a better way and how I can reach worldwide audience in a short span of time.
6) What habits contribute to your success?
Happiness, satisfaction, never giving up attitude, and believing in myself are few of the habits that play an important role in my Life.
7) If you had the opportunity to start this business again, what would you do differently?
I wish I had got this idea before my graduation time. So, I would have started it earlier.
8) What is your favorite inspirational quote?
Instead of increasing team members in your business, increase number of digits in your revenue.
9) Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in certain novels. Priyanka Chopra is also an inspiration for me because she inspired me to believe in myself and taught me to break the barriers.
10) What is your favorite book?
Becoming by Michelle Obama
11) What advice would you give to someone starting out?
Just believe in yourself and do what your heart says. Do not listen to demotivated people in life because you are the narrator of your own story and no one else is.
Too often, we stick to our jobs and refrain from coming out of our comfort zone . Divya quit her corporate job, which she found boring to launch VSSOL. Her mom enlightened her to start doing what she loved instead of working for someone else.
Now VSSOL is the leading online platform for counselling, workshops, motivation classes and various training. With a growing number of customers, it is all set to scale greater heights in coming days. To be a successful entrepreneur, you should listen to your inner voice, as Divya points out.
