Ecommerce major Amazon led a $11 million funding round in Gurugram-based bus shuttle service provider, Shuttl. The series B funding also had Dentsu Ventures along with existing investors.
Shuttle will use the latest funding for product development, expansion into new cities and marketing. The company is also looking at increasing the routes and the frequency within Delhi as well.
“By taking on the everyday urban commute, Shuttl is solving for a large and relevant customer pain point. Amazon is impressed by Shuttl’s journey so far and excited to back missionary founders and management teams,” said Amazon India’s country head Amit Agarwal.
Founded in April 2015 by Amit Singh and Deepanshu Malviya, Shuttl provides an app-based office shuttle service and claims to offer economic and comfortable shuttle services to commuters.
Presently, the company is providing service in Delhi-NCR and is running pilots in Pune and Kolkata. The company claims that it has 30K rides every day with 600 buses on its platform.
