Ecommerce major Amazon India has announced its second Prime Day on July 16 with a 36-hour shopping and entertainment marathon beginning 12 noon and running through the midnight of July 17.
The flasghip event from Amazon is one of the most effective strategies by the company to bag more sales. This year, Amazon is expected to make many exclusive launches on Prime Day.
According to reports, Prime Day will feature over 200 exclusive product launches from top brands, which is a great increase from last year’s 34. Exclusive launches will be seen in a wide range of product categories, from smartphones to clothing accessories.
“Prime members in India can enjoy over 200 exclusive product launches, and thousands of deals in the lowest prices of the year,” said Amit Agarwal, SVP & Country Manager of Amazon India.
Amazon had recently introduced monthly plans for Prime subscription to bag more Prime customers in India. Through Prime Day, Amazon eyes manifold growth in sales. Since its inception in India, Amazon has been facing stiff competition from market leader, Flipkart.
